You guys, how amazing is that picture up there? It is currently my laptop background from Alphacoders because Halloween is in less than a week!!!! If there’s any holiday that I love more than Christmas, it’s Halloween. It always brings back so many memories for me as a kid, thinking back to watching Halloweentown, getting costumes, and trick-or-treating with my family.
So in honour of this fun occasion, I chose to do a different type of recipe post. I hope you guys like it. 🙂
These treats are all ones that I have seen from time to time. I like them because they are fast and you barely have to do anything. Majority of the items are already pre-made, so everything will be a breeze.
These guys were my favourite. The cutest little ugly things and the “screams” just kill me. I bought dark chocolate coated pretzels, candy eyes, and white icing glue from Bulk Barn. I literally just “glued” the eyes on with the icing and they were done. It took me about 5 minutes to get them all done.
Next up we have these adorable Ghost Pops. The boonanas (get what I did there??) make it a healthy Halloween treat. I cut the boonana’s in half and used mini chocolate chips for the eyes and mouths. Icing glue was not needed for this, I just gave the chips a little push once they were in place. I found these fun Halloween themed sticks at Bulk Barn, but you can use popsicle sticks as an alternative.
Boonanas (sorry last time!) + Chocolate Chips = Yum
And last but not least, Monster Cookies. You wanna know what the best part is? I used chocolate-chip cookie mix. So even though they aren’t that pretty, they taste delicious. I know, I’m so naughty, but I know you’re all going to either be super busy or you forgot to actually make something for the party you’re going to so I wanted to do treats that were easy and kid-friendly. So I made the cookies as per the directions and dyed the cookie dough with green food colouring before I baked them. Right when I took them out of the oven I placed the eyes in different positions and let the cookies cool. The sugar in the candy eyes melted a little and they stayed in place. I made mine green but feel free to experiment with other colours.
That’s all for today you little gremlins. Happy Halloween!
