I am about to change the way you look at parfait. It is so easy to make and you can have it for dessert or breakfast. I prefer mine at dessert time.
This recipe was adapted from The Pioneer Womans’ “Yogurt Cream and Berries”. It is to die for!
Brown Sugar seriously does something so magical to yogurt. I can’t even explain it, you just have to try. I used two cups of yogurt and was able to make two wine glass parfaits. Experiment with different types of fruit and let me know how it goes.
- 2 cups greek yogurt, plain
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- fresh strawberries. thinly sliced
- Add a layer of yogurt in a parfait cup. Sprinkle a good amount of brown sugar on top. Layer strawberries on top of brown sugar. Repeat until parfait cup is full. Do not put a layer of strawberries on top. Chill in the fridge for minimum 30 minutes to "cook" the brown sugar. Remove from fridge and layer freshly sliced strawberries on top.
